European first trip (P2): Netherland – Rotterdam My next destination in Holland is Rotterdam. This is a major port city in the South Holland. My first impression is that the city is so crowded with full local citizens as well as visitors. Maybe because I come at the Christmas season. This city has a spectacular structure called The Cube House. It was built with a strange style of architecture with an array of cube blocks. It is so interesting. We took a walk around the city, tasted foods, enjoyed the nice atmosphere. Visiting Netherland, it is totally different in comparing Finland, from the custom, the weather as well as the architecture. It is true as people said that ‘’travels form a young man’’.

European first trip (P1): Netherland – Kinderdijk One of the most fascinating thing when you study in Europe is that you can take advantage of the power of Schengen resident permit. When you have a Schengen visa/resident permit, you can visit 27 countries in Schengen area. So, make your plan and pack your back. My first destination outside Finland is Netherland, land of windmills. Of course, the first place I visit is Kinderdijk or Windmills Village in English. That is one of the most beautiful scenery that I used to visit. I can witness by my own eyes many windmills that I used to watch on the television about Holland. It is truly windy at Kinderdijk, and it is easy to understand why there are so many windmills here. In fact, not only here, around Netherland nowadays, you can easily see a lot of electric windmills which are used to produce clean energy. Kinderdijk is quite small but a must-visit place when you come to Netherland.

FINLAND IN AUTUMN        The autumn in Finland is extraordinary. The temperature is around 15-20 degree Celsius, which brings a cool and fresh weather. Finland scenery is the most impressive. Most of trees turn into yellow and red. The whole Finland becomes a colorful painting of nature. People enjoy the nice weather and beautiful scenery by walking around the street or go into the wood the completely enjoy the beauty of nature. I like to walk along the river, Aura, enjoy the fascinating picture and take some photo to keep those moments forever in my private album. Autumn in Finland is quite short, around a month before the coldness along with winds of the winter comes. Maybe those are the reasons why all creatures together create a gorgeous picture before taking a deep sleep for the upcoming winter.

FINLAND’S NATURE  One of the most impressed feature in Finland is the natural environment. When you come to Finland, you maybe surprise that most of the country is covered by forest. In Turku, the city where I live, except the city center, you can easily take a trekking into the forest anytime you like. I and my friend usually go into the forest for camping, and for harvest wild fruits such as blue berry, raspberry or some mushrooms. If you have luck you can see many wild animals freely wander in the forest.  Finnish people are very concern about the nature. They always try to harmonize the industrial development with the natural environment. Maybe that is the reason why people here are very healthy and life here is so peaceful.

FINLAND AT FIRST SIGHT After all of waiting days, now I has taken the first sight (first photo) of Finland, the country that I dream to come. It can be said that this is a dream come true to me. When was at high school, I made myself a target that one day I would come to Finland to experience one of the best educations in the world as well as enjoying the feeling of walking under the snow. Finland welcomes me by the beautiful sunshine. Just couples of minutes to the dreamland, I can not wait to  experience the nature, and the special cultural life here. 😊😊😊
